Terms of Service

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Ammar ul Haq (“we”, “us”) governing your use of the Spent mobile app and related services (“Spent”). By downloading, accessing, or using Spent, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. What Spent is

Spent is a personal expense tracker. It lets you log expenses by speaking, snapping a receipt, typing, or asking Siri, and it uses automated AI extraction to turn those inputs into structured transactions. It also provides budgets, analytics, and subscription tracking. Spent is a personal-finance tool, not a bank, payment processor, accountant, or financial advisor.

3. Who can use Spent

You must be at least 13 years old to use Spent. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you can form a binding agreement in your country of residence.

4. Your account

• You can use Spent by signing in with Google or Apple, or as an anonymous guest. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Your expense data is tied to your account. If you use guest mode, your data lives on that anonymous account — signing in is recommended so you can restore it across devices.
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (account menu → Delete account).

5. Spent Pro subscriptions

Spent is free to use with limits. Spent Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited AI capture, monthly AI insights, advanced analytics, unlimited budgets and tracked subscriptions, and CSV/PDF export.

• Plans and price. Spent Pro is offered as a Monthly plan at $3.99 / month and an Annual plan at $24.99 / year. Prices may vary by region and by store; the exact price and currency for your account are always shown in the app before you confirm a purchase.
• Free trial. New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription and your payment method is charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Billing and auto-renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Managing and cancelling.You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your device's store settings (Apple: Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions; Google: Play Store → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds.Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and refunds are handled under their policies. We do not separately process payments and cannot issue store refunds directly, though we're happy to help you where we can.
• Price changes. If we change subscription prices, the change will not affect your current period. Where required, your store will ask for your consent before a renewal at a new price.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Spent — including attempting to break, reverse-engineer, or overload the service, accessing other users' data, or using the app to store unlawful content. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or that risks harm to the service or other users.

7. AI features and accuracy

AI capture is a convenience feature that transcribes and extracts details from your input. It can make mistakes — misreading an amount, merchant, or currency. You are responsible for reviewing your entries and correcting anything that's wrong. Spent's figures are for your personal reference and should not be relied on as official financial records.

8. Your content and data

You own the expense data and captures you create. You grant us the limited permission needed to host, process, and display that content so the app works for you — including sending captures to our AI processing provider with your consent, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your data and do not sell it.

9. Our intellectual property

Spent, including its name, logo, design, and software, is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding or to copy, resell, or redistribute the app except as allowed by the app store you downloaded it from.

10. Disclaimers

Spent is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI extraction will be accurate. Spent does not provide financial, tax, or investment advice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Spent. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Termination

You may stop using Spent and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Spent after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes any consumer-protection rights you have under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
